My Daughter Stacia is the utlimate athlete for her drive to never give up. On 5/20/2013 we were told that Stacia would have a spinal fusion from T4 to L2 from a 45 degree thorasic scoliosis curve. Stacia had surgery on 6/4/2013 and was told she would be out of sports her entire Freshman Year. Stacia is only 98 lbs and 5'4" - she played volleyball, basketball and ran track. Stacia spent 6 days in the hospital and was at the first volleyball practice in July. Stacia never missed a practice even though she could not participate. Stacia made the JV team knowing that she may not play at all. At this time we were not if Stacia would ever play again. On 8/26/2013 her Surgeon Dr. Alan McGee released her to standing serves, setting and passing. No Diving and No jump serves. Her Coaches were amazing - Stacia attending and participated in her 10 required practices and played in her first VB game on 9/19/2013. She is now playing JV basketball for Churubusco. Stacia never quit - she was determined to get back to her sports. This makes Stacia My ASICS Ultimate Athlete!! Mom Jodi Fester
Statistics & Awards
Stacia received the most improved player award during 6th grade basketball and the Leadership award in 8th grade basketball. I am having a problem uploading a photo of Stacia - so I can certainly submit one if requested.
