The annual Sam Wyche Food Fight Bowl attracts more than 10,000 fans every year. The game is named after Wyche, a former head coach for the Cincinnati Bengals and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both schools raise money for the Pickens County Meals-on-Wheels. Whichever school raises the most money is awarded a trophy, as is the winner of the game.

This rivalry began in the 1960s and has become one of the more bitter rivalries in the state. Bishop England's and Hanahan's players certainly don't hang out off of the field. In the past the teams have gotten into fights during the game and both schools have played major pranks including painting the Bishop England statue of John England white and setting the grass on fire.

These two teams began their feud in 1964 and have all the makings of a spirited rivalry, from multiple state titles to a handful of alumni who went on to play in college and the NFL. In years past, fans have been removed from the stands for waving derogatory signs at each other. Tombstones with the opposing team's players' names on them have had to be removed from the field on game day .
