Two of the biggest communities in Valencia County, just south of Albuquerque, these rivals are approximately 13 miles apart. The annual game is one of the most-attended events in the area, drawing a crowd of approximately 3,000. The duo played its 60th game on Oct. 12.

Dating back to 1967, the popularity of the state's most intense high school rivalry inspired a documentary, "Cruces Divided". The annual matchup is played in November at New Mexico State and draws a crowd pushing 30,000.

These teams have played since 1943. From 1943-62, West Las Vegas dominated Robertson, but Robertson flipped the series and starting in 1986, rattled off 12 consecutive wins. The rivalry is as intense between the fans as it is between the teams. In fact, the game used to be scheduled for mid-day to curb fan altercations.
