The Brother Rice and Catholic Central rivalry dates back to 1967. These two Catholic League foes battle it out every year for what is usually the league championship and in most years a state championship. The two schools are led by legendary coaches and have a combined 19 state championships.
These two teams have squared off since 1894, as one of the longest rivalries in the state of Michigan. Every year these two teams battle for the Diamond Jubilee trophy. The series record goes to Negaunee, 68-57-11, but the last two victories went to Marquette.
